This two day class is the perfect balance between mastering the basics, and learning to overcome obstacles with technique and ease. We’ll help you build confidence as a new rider, while pushing and enhancing the skills of seasoned riders. Want to take those new skills to the next level? Depending on your trainer, we'll either have a 2 day Level 3 course available, or we'll spend 2 additional full days riding some of northern Utah's best roads and trails to help push those techniques even further. Information on upgrades and add-ons is included through the check-out process. Or call anytime with inquiries or questions.

With balance being the core of just about everything, we start there then progress through peg weighting, body position, proper lifting, mastering the clutch, brake & throttle control, Enduro steering, and so much more. Looking to practice something specific? Let us know and we’ll do our best to walk you through the drills to get you there.

Day One

We’ll meet at Grit MotoRanch at 8am sharp for introductions and an overview of each day's focus. Instructors will be available for a walkthrough of bikes and answering any basic set up questions. The morning session will jump into techniques & drills, we'll break for lunch, then typically be back to basecamp around 4pm after our afternoon session. Some of what this first day will include: Throttle, brake, & clutch control, balance techniques, climbing & descending steep hills, and avoiding obstacles.

Day Two

We’ll pick up where we left off right at 8am back at the Ranch. This second day will build on the skills learned and apply them to real world obstacles & challenges. Some of the techniques of the day will include: Front & rear wheel locking, counterbalance, proper body positions for different terrains, and riding through sand, gravel, and rock gardens.

Days 3 & 4

When all the hard work pays off and is put to the test! Our ranch is surrounded by a plethora of small dirt roads, twisty paved ones, and some pretty spectacular trails. Depending on the class, we'll either do two single day rides from the ranch each day, or an overnight ride to one of our many epic camps & lodge options. Details for where each class will go can be given at time of sign up.

Things to Know

What’s Included

Riding fees & lunches are included within the base class price. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know when submitting your registration form and we’ll make sure you’re set with options.

Not Included

Bike rentals, riding gear, airfare, lodging, and dinners. But we can help you with all those things! Just let us know what you need and we’ll help you get there. You can also add on bike rentals and lodging (when available) during the check-out process.

Required Riding Gear

Helmets, riding boots, and gloves are required for all classes. Body armor is strongly recommended. The more protected you feel, the more you’ll push out of your comfort zone and learn new skills. If you have any questions on your gear, hit us up anytime.

Deposit & Cancellation Fees

We ride rain or shine, but understand life happens. Cancel within 48 hours of purchase for a full refund.

For cancellations up to 3 weeks prior to your class, a credit for a future class of equal value will be issued and available for 12 months from issued date. However, no refunds or credits will be given for cancellations within 3 weeks prior to the start of the class and/or ride.

If you are unable to complete a class or ride that you started due to physical or mechanical reasons, you may be issued a partial credit to attend a future class or event within 12 months.

If a class or tour is canceled due to extreme weather or tragedy, participants will be given a credit towards equivalent class or ride of their choice on a future date.

Motorcycle Equipment

50/50 knobby tires are highly recommended, but this decision depends on the type of riding you’d like to do post class. If you can’t decide, give us a ring and we’ll talk you through brand options and types to make sure you have a tire suitable for you. We’ll also have tires on hand at the ranch if we need a last minute swap out.

High quality & strong hand guards to protect levers are recommended. We use and recommend HDB Ultimate Handguards.

Doubletake Mirrors help prevent damage to the expensive original parts. If you have your factory mirrors still on, bring a back up pair just in case or remove them before class starts.

Hard panniers can be dangerous & heavy, and are not permitted during training. Soft luggage can remain on the bike.

If you’d like a bag to carry snacks & water in, a small backpack or Camelbak is highly recommended. While learning body position through different drills, it’s most important to have the freedom to move around the bike as needed, so tank bags often get in the way. Small tail bags for snacks and tools works fine too. Just make sure it’s not too tall to prohibit movement.
