Highlights

We ride adventure bikes for the journey AND the destination. They enable us to get to places in the backcountry that most won’t or can’t. And once we’re there, the doors open wide for endless amounts of adventure.

For the first in our Paired Adventure Series, we’ve partnered with landscape Photographer, Seth Hamel, owner of Enlighten Photography. Based on the boundaries of Zion National Park, he’s been guiding and teaching landscape photography for the past 10 years. In addition to being a photographer, Seth happens to also be an avid off-road motorcyclist. He obsessively scours satellite imagery to find obscure landscapes, then jumps on his bike to explore them. Making him familiar with many off-the-radar locations that make you feel like an explorer. To have the place all to yourself, with camera in-hand, experiencing the wilds of Utah. That’s a special thing.

For those who are interested in improving their artistic and technical photography skills, this workshop will provide hands on, one-on-one customized instruction at the locations we photograph in order to help you capture amazing images, and have the skills to do so on your own in the future. If you’re looking to hear what other people are saying about the workshops with Seth, you can see reviews here.

For motorbike skills, you should be comfortable & somewhat efficient riding dirt roads. If you only have experience riding pavement, we highly recommend a class prior to the tour. If you take a class at Grit, you’ll also get 15% off your tour.

Itinerary

In an effort to capture the best lighting of the day, we'll be camping 3 of the 4 nights. Tents, cots, and chairs will be provided; all that's required is personal sleeping bag and pillows (which will be carried in the support vehicle).

Wednesday: Arrival in St. George

If you're renting one of our T700s, we'll spend some time getting you acquainted, set up, and comfortable. If you're riding your own bike, we'll do a quick walk through safety check and run through some brief riding techniques. We'll then all meet for introductions, ride expectations & dinner at 6pm.

Thursday - Saturday: Exploring southern Utah

Through a combination of camping and lodging, we'll ride to remote areas for epic landscapes and the photography workshop.

Sunday: Departure

Make our way back to St. George for lunch & goodbyes!

What’s not Included

Bike Rentals, riding gear, & airfare are not included within this tour, but we can help! Just let us know what you need and we’ll help you get there.

Please also bring your own sleeping bag & pillow, and we’ll carry it for you in the support vehicle.

Motorcycle equipment

Tires. 50/50 knobby tires are highly recommended, but this decision depends on the type of riding you’d like to do post class. If you can’t decide, give us a ring and we’ll talk you through brand options and types to make sure you have a tire suitable for you. We’ll also have tires on hand at the ranch if we need a last minute swap out.

Hand guards. High quality & strong hand guards to protect levers are recommended. We use and recommend HDB Ultimate Hand guards.

Mirrors. Doubletake Mirrors help prevent damage to the expensive original parts. If you have your factory mirrors still on, bring a backup just in case or remove them before class starts.

Luggage. Hard panniers can be dangerous & heavy, and are strongly discouraged. Soft luggage or tail bags are definitely recommended for carrying luggage during tours. A small backpack or Camelbak is also ideal for carrying snacks & water over tank bags that may get in the way.

Required Riding Gear

Helmets, riding boots, and gloves are required for all classes. And body armor is strongly recommended. The more protected you feel, the more you’ll push out of your comfort zone and learn new skills! If you have any questions on your gear, hit us up anytime.

Deposit & Cancellation Fees

We ride rain or shine, but understand life happens.

Refunds are available only for cancellations done within 48 hours of booking. For cancellations up to 3 weeks prior to your class, a credit for a future class of equal value will be issued and available for 12 months from issue date. However, no refunds or credits will be given for cancellations within 3 weeks prior to the start of the class and/or ride.

If you are unable to complete a class or ride that you started due to physical or mechanical reasons, you may be issued a partial credit to attend a future class or event within 12 months.

If a class or tour is canceled due to weather or an event not within the control of Grit Moto Adventures, participants will be given a credit towards an equivalent class or ride of their choice on a future date.
